Luxury hidden basement

A hidden below-ground living space set 11 metres deep, with a mezzanine level and an open-top internal courtyard bringing light, height and drama into the heart of the design. Created for a high-end rental property, the space needed to feel impressive, elegant and highly considered, while making the most of its unusual architecture.

We were involved from the early stages of the dig and construction, shaping the interior direction, layout and zoning as the structure developed. Views across the main living space, up to the mezzanine and out towards the courtyard give the room a striking sense of openness, despite being below ground.
